The Connection Dilemma

How to Predict the Future?

The fixed position vaults were a very good solution until the vessels started changing, getting bigger and showing up with different onboard cable management system locations. Some ships would berth on the port side, others on the starboard side and when combining this with the different possible positions of the cable deployment location onboard the vessels it was becoming more difficult to ensure that connections could be made. The solution to this problem was to simply install more vaults, more cabling, more switchgear and in some cases move vault locations or abandon them. This is a very expensive approach and not always feasible. A new solution was needed.
